Best of Show: Shute Road Morning
Geoffrey Wittig
12"x16" oil on panel
$500 (see pricelist)
From juror Jill Stefani Wagner: Outstanding painting which spoke to me immediately. The color palette is limited which creates a believable, harmonious effect. The sense of both linear and atmospheric perspective lends a perfect feeling of distance as the road travels away from us. The color becomes more muted and the elements less detailed as we move into the wooded hills. The nearby shadows and trees are nicely painted but don't grab too much attention away from our long view. I feel like I am actually IN this painting, not just viewing it from outside the frame.
Juror Award: Falls Sliders
Steve BonDurant
11"x14" oil
$700
From juror Jill Stefani Wagner: I adore this painting for many reasons. Many of the compositional lines lead right to the focal pont of the two people in the falls. The background falls back and provides an impressionistic back drop. Beautiful, integrated palette provides a believable colors and values without stealing the show.
Juror Award: Singing Waters
Marion Cassie
9"x12" oil
$550
From juror Jill Stefani Wagner: Evocative river scene with strong, repeating shapes that help to hold the compositon together. Nice feeling of light and moving water. The limited palette harmonizes well and implies a moist dappled location.
Juror Award: Mendon Ponds #2
Connie Ehindero
8"x4.5" acrylic on board
$125
From juror Jill Stefani Wagner: Love the Japanese feel of this piece. The strong horizontal format reminds me of the asian scrolls from centuries ago yet the vibrant color and abstract shapes and strokes feel very much "Today." Really strong painting.
Juror Award: Roadside Eye Candy

From juror Jill Stefani Wagner: Perfect title for this juicy painting, filled with lots of color and texture. Often hard to pull off this type of scene without creating a riot of cunfusion. But the artist managed to putt it all together in a joyous and yet not too cloying way. It screams "happiness" to me!
Juror Award: Time and Distance

From juror Jill Stefani Wagner: Wow! What great brush strokes on this painting! At first the crazy energy and riot of color seemed confusing , but the more I looked at it, the more realistic it became. Great use of tonal values. Really beautiful, fresh piece.
Juror Award: Adirondack Hideaway
Nancy Lane
6"x12" oil
$425
From juror Jill Stefani Wagner: Gorgeous painting where everything works together. The colors are calm and muted giving the feeling of an overcast day. The water flows calmy toward us and the soft reflections reinforce the stillness. Love how the distant hill fades away into the sky. This piece makes me want to BE there...
A View of Newton Lake
Judy Soprano
8"x16" oil
$500
From juror Jill Stefani Wagner: Serene, lovely view. All of the painting elements merge together to give the painting a peaceful feeling. Muted colors and softened brush strokes, the lessening of detail as the background falls back. Beautifully painted.
Juror Award: Creek in Webster, NY

From juror Jill Stefani Wagner: Very minimaliist yet highly effective impression of a moon and its reflection on a dark night. Brush strokes are loose and expressive, stating only what is necessary. This piece reminded me of William Turner and Claude Monet's atmospheric paintings.
